Privacy policy

How Tech2Fix handles customer information.

This policy explains what information Tech2Fix uses to run the website, booking route, repair workflow, tracking, quote decisions and warranty claims.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies when you visit tech2fix.uk, book a repair, track a job, respond to a quote, pay for a service, contact Tech2Fix, or use the warranty claim route. Tech2Fix is responsible for deciding how customer information is used for those services.

For privacy questions, email privacy@tech2fix.uk.

Information collected

  • Contact details such as name, email address, phone number and shipping address.
  • Device information, repair symptoms, fault history and service preferences.
  • Booking references, quote decisions, tracking status and repair or recovery report metadata.
  • Payment status and checkout metadata from Stripe. We do not receive or store full card details.
  • Warranty code, warranty status and claim information submitted through the warranty claim route.
  • Website security, analytics and abuse-prevention events needed to operate the site safely.

How information is used, and our legal basis

  • To create, manage and communicate about repair bookings - necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To diagnose faults, provide quotes, carry out repairs, assess data recovery and return devices - necessary to provide the service you requested.
  • To handle payment confirmation, warranty claims and customer support - necessary to perform our contract and, where relevant, meet legal obligations.
  • To keep records for accounting, warranty, dispute handling and operational audit - legal obligation or legitimate interest depending on the record.
  • To prevent fraud, protect the website and manage abuse - legitimate interest in running a secure repair service.

Data recovery and access details

Where device access is required, passcodes or sensitive access details are requested only through secure routes. They are not requested in ordinary plain-text email. Recovered data is handled through approved delivery methods and is encrypted before leaving our lab.

How long we keep information

We keep booking, repair, quote, payment-status and warranty records for as long as needed to deliver the service, support the warranty period, handle customer support, keep accounting records and protect against disputes or abuse. Where information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

Third-party services and international transfers

Tech2Fix uses service providers such as Cloudflare, Stripe, Sendcloud, email platforms, automation tools and record systems to operate the workflow. Some providers may process information outside the UK or EU. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures recognised under UK data protection law.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

Our website may use essential cookies and similar technologies needed to operate the site securely and reliably. We do not use these to build advertising profiles. Where any non-essential cookies are introduced in future, we will ask for your consent first.

Tech2Fix does not use third-party advertising pixels or cross-site profiling cookies. The site uses security and infrastructure tooling to protect forms, reduce automated abuse and measure basic website performance. If the analytics setup changes in a way that needs consent, the website will be updated before that feature is used.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, object to certain processing, and request data portability where those rights apply. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@tech2fix.uk.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
