No power faults
Dead iPhone repair when the screen stays black and nothing responds.
An iPhone that will not turn on can still have a repairable fault. The cause may be the battery, charging path, display, software or a specific point on the logic board, so diagnosis comes before any repair claim.
The fixed £35 diagnostic covers the assessment described below and both-way UK tracked shipping. If you approve the repair quote, the fee is deducted from that quote. No repair work starts without your approval.
The symptom
What a dead iPhone usually looks like
Customers describe the same handful of behaviours, and each one narrows the search before the board is even on the bench:
- No response to the power button, charging or a forced restart
- Vibrates or makes sounds but the screen stays black
- The Apple logo flashes briefly and the phone goes dark again
- Warm near the camera or charging port while apparently off
Likely causes
What tends to cause it
Liquid exposure
Even a brief splash can corrode power circuits over days or weeks. A phone that died some time after getting wet is still a liquid-damage case.
Drop damage
Impact can crack solder joints or dislodge components. The phone sometimes works for a while afterwards, then fails once a weakened joint lets go.
Shorted power rail
A single failed capacitor or IC can pull a power rail to ground, so the phone draws current but never boots. This is a classic board-level fault.
Charging-path failure
A failed charging IC can leave the battery flat with no way to refill it — the phone looks dead but the fault is in the charge path.
What the diagnostic finds
What the £35 assessment actually does.
- Current-draw testing on bench power — a dead phone's draw signature narrows the fault family straight away
- Short-circuit tracing on the power rails to isolate failed components
- Microscope inspection for corrosion, cracked joints and previous repair marks
- A written finding: what failed, whether repair is viable, and the exact quote
The findings arrive in writing with the quote. You approve, decline or extend — the fee terms are explained in the FAQ.
Describe the fault once — the booking form fills itself.
Tech2Fix Intelligent Intake reads your description, identifies the likely service route and pre-fills the booking for you to review. Completed repairs carry a 90-day warranty on the specific fault repaired.

iPhone no power FAQ
Is a dead iPhone worth repairing?
Usually the question is answered by diagnosis rather than guesswork. Many no-power faults are single-component failures that cost far less to repair than replacing the phone. The £35 diagnostic tells you the exact fault and price before you decide anything.
Is my data still on a dead iPhone?
In most no-power cases the storage is untouched — the phone cannot boot, but the data is still there. If the data matters more than the repair, tell us during booking and we treat it as a data recovery case first.
My iPhone died after an update or while charging overnight. Is that different?
The trigger helps the diagnosis but the approach is the same: bench testing to find the actual failure point. Tell us what happened just before it died when you book — it genuinely speeds up fault isolation.
