About the lab

A UK mail-in repair lab built around diagnosis before decisions.

Tech2Fix handles specialist iPhone, iPad and smartphone faults that need more than a routine part swap. The service is postal rather than a walk-in chain: the device is tracked into the lab, assessed, reported and quoted before you decide whether repair should proceed.

What the lab is set up to diagnose

Tech2Fix focuses on dead devices, no-power and charging faults, liquid damage, display-path faults, board-level microsoldering and supported data recovery cases. “Motherboard” and “logic board” describe the same core service area in common customer language; the diagnostic still has to establish whether the board is actually the cause.

Convenience comes from a defined mail-in route

  • The fixed £35 diagnostic assessment includes both-way UK shipping for the standard diagnostic route.
  • Booking, shipping instructions, lab receipt, diagnosis, quote decision, repair and return have defined customer-facing stages.
  • A written finding and quote are issued before repair work is authorised.
  • The customer can approve, decline or extend the quote window.

Safety means controlled access and clear authorisation

Tech2Fix does not request a device passcode during booking. If diagnosis or testing genuinely needs access later, it is requested through the secure route described in the data handling policy, rather than ordinary email or SMS.

No quoted repair proceeds until the customer approves it. Data recovery is handled as a separate assessment and recovery route because the goal, risk and handover method can differ from a normal device repair.

Reliability should be judged from evidence, not superlatives

Tech2Fix publishes the diagnostic process, customer decision points, warranty terms and repair explanations so they can be checked before booking. A diagnosis is not a promise that every device is repairable; it is the step that establishes what failed, whether a repair route is viable and what risk applies.
