No power faults · any brand
Dead phone repair for any make or model — not just iPhone.
Whatever brand is stamped on the back, a phone that will not turn on can have a battery, charging, display, software or board-level cause. We diagnose the actual fault first on Apple, Samsung, Google, OnePlus and most other Android devices, then explain the appropriate route.
The fixed £35 diagnostic covers the assessment described below and both-way UK tracked shipping. If you approve the repair quote, the fee is deducted from that quote. No repair work starts without your approval.
The symptom
What a dead phone usually looks like
The same handful of behaviours narrow the fault before the board is even on the bench, regardless of brand:
- No response to the power button, charging or a forced restart
- Vibrates or shows a charge light but the screen stays black
- A brief logo or splash screen, then goes dark again
- Warm near the charging port or camera while apparently off
Likely causes
What tends to cause it, whatever the brand
Liquid exposure
Corrosion from even a brief splash develops over days or weeks — a phone that died some time after getting wet is still a liquid-damage case, on any brand.
Drop damage
Impact can crack solder joints or dislodge components regardless of manufacturer. Some phones keep working for a while afterwards, then fail once a weakened joint lets go.
Shorted power rail
A single failed component pulling a rail to ground is a classic board-level fault across Apple and Android devices alike.
Charging-path failure
A failed charging IC leaves the battery flat with no way to refill it — common on all brands, especially after cheap or damaged chargers.
What the diagnostic finds
What the £35 assessment actually does.
- Current-draw testing on bench power to narrow the fault family immediately
- Short-circuit tracing on the power rails to isolate failed components
- Microscope inspection for corrosion, cracked joints and previous repair marks
- A written finding on what failed, whether repair is viable, and the exact quote
The findings arrive in writing with the quote. You approve, decline or extend — the fee terms are explained in the FAQ.

Phone no power FAQ
Do you repair Samsung, Google and OnePlus phones, or only iPhone?
We diagnose and repair smartphones across Apple and most major Android brands — Samsung, Google, OnePlus, Xiaomi and others. Select your device type and brand when you book and the same board-level process applies.
Is a dead phone always worth repairing over replacing?
Usually the question is answered by diagnosis rather than guesswork. Many no-power faults are single-component failures that cost far less than a replacement phone. The £35 diagnostic gives you the exact fault and price before you decide anything.
Is my data safe if the phone won't turn on?
In most no-power cases the storage is untouched — the phone can't boot, but the data is still there. If data matters more than the repair, tell us at booking and we treat it as a data recovery case first.
