Process guide

How Tech2Fix mail-in repair works from booking to return.

A straight explanation of what happens after you book, what the diagnostic fee covers, and how decisions are handled before any repair starts.

Quick answer

Book the diagnostic first, receive the prepaid label, send the device in, get a written report and quote, then decide whether to approve the repair. No quoted repair work starts until you say yes.

1. Book the diagnostic or recovery assessment

The process starts with the booking route. For standard repair cases, the opening fee covers the assessment route and both-way shipping. For data recovery, the first step is an assessment to determine viability and the safest route.

2. Receive your shipping instructions

After booking, Tech2Fix sends the shipping guidance and label so the device can be matched to your job correctly from the start.

3. The device is logged in and assessed

Once the device reaches the lab, it is logged and worked through the diagnostic process. That can include fault isolation, board-level testing and condition review depending on the case.

4. You receive a written report and quote

The key moment in the process is the report. You receive the findings, the likely repair or recovery path, and the quote before any quoted work proceeds.

5. You decide what happens next

You can approve, decline or, in many cases, extend the quote window. This is a diagnosis-first model, not a surprise-bill model.

6. Repair, return and warranty

If the repair is approved, the job moves forward. When complete, the device is returned via tracked shipping. Completed repairs include a 90-day warranty for the specific fault repaired.
